Two months away and counting – Tideswell Food Festival: A wonderful festival of food in the beautiful Peak District – 30 April 2016
The Tideswell Food Festival 2016 is getting closer – and I have to say that the list of traders is looking good! Looking forward to seeing you there on 30 April 2016 in the streets of Tideswell.
There’s a reason why Valentines Day falls where it does in the year, and it’s not all to do with saints. With the memory of Christmas fading, and Easter still barely on the horizon, Valentine’s fills what would otherwise be a gaping hole in the Chocoholic’s Calendar.
Food remains a universal language of love, and at Tideswell School of Food we have a whole range of courses coming up in Spring. From bread-baking to wine-tasting, any of these would make a great gift or a romantic outing together. In March we’re offering another day course with Great British Bake-Off semi-finalist Danny Bryden, and in April we’ll be running one of Oliver’s ever-popular Chocolate Workshops.
Perhaps you’d like to gather a few chef secrets yourself, to impress your partner with an elegant home-cooked meal – check out our French or Italian courses, or Middle Eastern,Thai and Vietnamese for something a bit more exotic. Or if you’re just looking to spend some quality time together, you can get the children out of the house on one of our Children’s Cookery days.
Or why not take advantage of our special Valentines offer? Book a place on a selected course in February and March and bring the love of your life for half the price! By booking a course at Tideswell School of Food you will not only enjoy a range of delicious dishes, but get the chance to spend the day with the person you love in a relaxed and fun environment.
So, whether you’re looking for a special gift for one, or a memorable and rewarding experience to share, we really do have something to suit all tastes – and remember, the most direct route to the heart is via the stomach.

Scores of visitors to Tideswell today have resulted in some shops selling out! Tindalls, who feature on last night’s BBC! Village SOS programme, have been baking all day (Carol is the one wearing the wig and dark glasses!) and the Cherry Tree, Tideswell’s newest food shop, have been running out too. Visitors to the School of Food say that some of the pubs have run out of food too.
Penny Ward, of Litton Larder, the Queen of the Sticky Toffee Puds, has been busy making 150 STP’s in the School’s commercial kitchen and they’re flying out of the Peak Dairy shop.
We’re expecting similar numbers in the village tomorrow and over the weekend, so traders, stock up now and visitors, bring your pennies.
