Bank Holiday Fun!

If you’re around the village on bank holiday Monday 31st May, come on down to our information stall in the Pot Market to meet some of the Taste Tideswell team.  You can find out more about the project, ask any questions you may have, and find out how to get involved.  Balloons, cake and funny chef’s hats will be the order of the day!

School Assembly

Tim and Pete went back to school this morning to talk to the whole of Bishop Pursglove Primary School in Tideswell about Taste Tideswell. Very attentive and they also knew a lot too. We set them a cooking challenge and look forward to seeing how well they do.

It’s official. Taste Tideswell is one of six villages across the UK to win over £400,000 in the BIG Lottery Fund Village SOS scheme. It’s fantastic news and a great tribute to the hours of hard work that the village has put in over the past few months.

Taste Tideswell celebration - we've won

We've Won!

So we’re on. Tim Nicol joins us as our Village Champion, to help us realise our dreams and build, kit and open our Cookery School, our commercial ‘incubation’ kitchen and nano-brewery. Our Grow It project will step up a gear and encourage everyone in the village to grow more edible plants. We’ll start developing the brand ‘Taste Tideswell’ to help local producers sell their fabulous local foods, and we’ll be developing a comprehensive education programme to share our knowledge with the wider world and work with local children and the community as we all learn to Cook IT.

Check out the interviews at 7.15 on BBC Radio Derby, after 7.30 on BBC Radio Sheffield or the piece in Wednesday’s Yorkshire Post or the Derbyshire Times and High Peak Radio’s bulletins.
